The St. Rita Vocations Ministry seeks to promote vocations to all states of life in service to God and the Church. All of us have a “calling” to love God and love our neighbors as ourselves, but this calling is lived out in different ways, or vocations. For most, it may be either priesthood, diaconate, religious life, matrimony, or a consecrated single life of service. For others, it may be a variety of these throughout their lives. In whatever path it may be, we are all called to respond to God’s love for us with our whole lives. Inspired by our parish’s patron saint, St. Rita of Cascia, who lived out the call to love in different states of life as a wife, mother, and religious sister, the Vocations Ministry seeks to help everyone discern and follow the direction that God has placed in their hearts. They seek to do this through the following:
promoting prayer for vocations through the Vocation Statues that travel to different parish households each week
bringing in speakers to share about their personal journeys
connecting parishioners to different vocation directors, religious communities, etc.
