Sacristans

A Sacristan is the person who prepares the altar for Mass, making sure that everything is ready for the celebrant and congregation – precious vessels, communion hosts and wine, altar linens, books properly marked, microphones set.  The Sacristan also puts away all items after Mass.  He/she may assist in recruiting additional Eucharistic Ministers, Lectors or Altar Servers if needed for Mass.  The Sacristan also ensures that the proper candles are lit. Training is provided.
