Fr. Tom and the Reopening Committee have discussed how to continue to meet the spiritual needs and desires of the St. Rita community despite the need to stop holding indoor services again. One thing that could be done immediately is to start offering Holy Communion on Sundays!
Therefore, we are pleased to announce Holy Communion will be distributed in the St. Rita lower parking lot from 11:30 a.m. until noon beginning this Sunday, July 26th. Watch Mass online – live-streamed from St. Rita’s 10:00 a.m., then come to St. Rita to receive the Sacrament. To enhance the experience, Paul Puccinelli will provide music while you wait.
Please drive west on Grandview Ave. to enter the parking lot. (This will prevent lines of cars from forming on Baldwin Ave.) Once you reach the lot, monitor volunteers will instruct you on how to proceed. Please wear masks as you approach Fr. Tom and the Eucharistic Minister. They will distribute Communion simultaneously to each side of the car.
NOTE: We are making this Communion opportunity available, but it is by no means a requirement. Catholics in the Los Angeles Archdiocese are still dispensed from attending Sunday Mass. Each individual’s health and safety should be the primary consideration in making the decision to attend any church-sponsored services.
