Reading Archbishop Gomez’ Letter—
I want to thank you dear St. Rita Parishioners and friends for your care, understanding, and support as I presented Archbishop José Gomez’ letter this past weekend. It is a weekend experience of people with pastor that will remain with me the rest of my days. I made the decision to celebrate all of the Masses this past weekend and I know it was the right one; we were together receiving a hard message, but we received it within the hearing of God’s Word and praying the Eucharistic Prayer—the most perfect prayer! I felt the grace of that and I am sure you did too.
After one of the Sunday Masses, amazingly, a gentleman came up to me and said, “This is the first Catholic Mass I have ever attended. How do I inquire about becoming Catholic?” Of all the possible reactions to the news shared this past weekend, you can believe I didn’t see that one coming! Can we all get a “God works in strange ways”?
Once again, thank you for your constancy in faith and your understanding of what it means to be Church and to be a member of the Body of Christ. I am most grateful to Our Lord to be your pastor.
