We are witnesses of all that He did…
This Man God raised on the third day
and granted that he be visible…
to us who ate and drank with him
after He rose from the dead.
Blessed and Glorious Easter!
We know that for Christians, the Glory of God is twofold: not only has Jesus “risen as he said,” but now his promises have been made true for all and for all time. And his promises are three:
The Doors of Heaven have been made open to us
If we are sorry for our sins, and have firm purpose of amendment,
our sins are forgiven
That He will remain with us until the end of time.
This is the day of The Resurrection of the Lord and it is our standing invitation TO LIVE THE RISEN LIFE. The elements of the risen life are Jesus’ beatitudes: being poor in spirit, having mercy, being pure in heart, working for justice and making peace—it is living Jesus’ great commandment, “Love one another as I have loved you.” Living the risen life, according to Him, comes with the following benefits: having mercy rendered to us, being comforted in mourning, satisfaction that endures unto eternal life, inheriting the earth, being called children of God, and inclusion in the Kingdom of God. For you and for your loved ones personally, for our Universal Church, and for our dear parish of St. Rita, I pray Jesus’ Risen Life in abundance this Easter and beyond! And with a very grateful heart for all who partner with me in pastoral ministry and who choose “To be Church in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health.”
