Proclaim Your Faith
Palm Sunday reminds us of Jesus’ entrance into Jerusalem and ought to remind us to proclaim our faith in Jesus. We need to proclaim we are his followers as they did on the streets into Jerusalem, “Hosanna to the Son of David; blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.”
As we begin Holy Week let us not be afraid to proclaim our faith. Let us proclaim it not just with words but with our actions. May we be people who serve others as Jesus served. May we be people who bring healing to others as Jesus brought healing. May we be people who are willing to suffer for the good of others as Jesus suffered for each of us.
This week’s Corporal Work of Mercy is Bury the Dead. Light a candle every day this week for those who died due to COVID-19 around the world and pray for them. Talk about those who die inside due to racism or lack of care for the common good. How can you bury those “deaths” in your home by fasting from selfishness, unkindness and by forgiving each other?
In your Domestic Church prayer space add red paper or fabric, the large nail and a palm branch or other greenery. May these items remind you to proclaim your faith and to sing “Hosanna to the Son of David” who was nailed to a cross to save us all. Peace.
