Christ the King marks the end and the beginning. He is the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last. This celebration marks the end of the Church year and next week the beginning of a new year (Advent). This celebration reminds us that at the end of the world Christ the King will return to begin something new and eternal. The fact that Christ will return is celebrated today. The need to prepare for this return ought to be an everyday priority. Next Sunday, the first Sunday of Advent, we will begin a new Church year and begin preparations for Christ to come. This is an excellent time to consider what type of changes are needed to best be prepared for Christ’s coming. Christ will return in glory and only with proper preparation will we be able to share in His glory. May Jesus be Lord and Savior of our lives and may He rule our actions and decisions. Let us proclaim with our lives, actions and choices, that Jesus Christ is King. Amen.
